A child taken in to police custody with 2 packets of alleged illegal drugs.
Maafannu Police Station has taken into their custody a child under the age of 18 with 13 pieces of cellophane.
This child was spotted near Maafannu Park at around 11.25 at night. The Police felt suspicious due to the unusual behaviour the child display; hence, upon searching, the Police found a box of cigarette with 13 pieces of cellophane and 2 packets of alleged illegal drugs.
The case is being investigated by the Family and Child Protection Department and the Drug Enforcement Department of Maldives Police Service.
