The First Lady opens the Correctional Training Centre for Children
On the occasion of the 45th Independence Day of the Republic of Maldives, the First Lady Laila Ali has officially opened the Correctional Training Centre for Children in Feydhoo Finolhu. In a ceremony held this morning at this centre, the Minister of Home Affairs, Commissioner of Police, Senior Official of Home Ministry and other Government organizations, Officers of Maldives Police Service, and parents/guardians of those children seeking training at this centre took part.
The Correctional Centre has already undertaken several courses throughout this year and has also been teaching students Dhivehi, Islam and English. Some of the courses include a computer course, drawing course and others which are all courses accredited by the Maldives Accreditation Board. Currently, there are 14 children between the ages of 14 and 17 seeking training in this centre.
