Kamadhoo Police Post Officially Opened and Services Commenced

A Police Post in B. Kamadhoo has officially been inaugurated, marking the commencement of police services on the island.

 

The Police Post was inaugurated in a ceremony officiated by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and Kamadhoo Council President Hassan Zareer.

 

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikury, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen, and some executive officers, commissioned officers, and other ranks of police, as well as the President of B. Atoll Council, employees of institutions in Kamadhoo, and some residents.
 

Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau described the inauguration as an important step toward enhancing safety and security for Kamadhoo residents and visitors. He highlighted the island’s strong social bonds and low crime rates, emphasizing that the establishment of the Police Post aims to foster closer collaboration between the police and the community to further prevent crime.

 

Commissioner Shujau highlighted the importance of stationing police on every inhabited island, as mandated by the Police Act, to strengthen community-centric policing.

 

"I urge the police stationed here to uphold the law, maintain peace, and ensure safety in the community. Your role in preventing and investigating crimes, especially addressing the drug issue, is crucial," he stated.

He further emphasized the Maldives Police Service's commitment to working with communities to prevent crime, remove barriers before crimes occur, and conduct collaborative initiatives with the public.
