The Drug Enforcement and Intelligence of the Maldives Police Service conducted a joint operation in Male' City that resulted in the arrest of two suspects. The operation, which took place on July 15, led to the recovery of 278 rubber packets and a large packet containing illicit narcotics from an apartment in the city.

The arrested individuals, a 22-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, are both Bangladeshi nationals. Following their arrest, the Criminal Court ordered their remand in custody for 15 days while the investigation continues.
