Police conduct swimming program for students in Madifushi

Police in Th. Madifushi have successfully concluded a swimming program for local school students, aimed at enhancing water safety skills among the youth.

The program, titled "Maves fathaanan" (We will also swim), was conducted by the Madifushi Police Station in collaboration with local institutions from July 13 to 25. It targeted students from grade 4 and above at Th. Madifushi School.

Out of 61 participants, 50 students successfully learned to swim and passed the final assessment. Additionally, 36 students who had previously learned to swim were included in the program's final assessment, allowing them to receive official certificates confirming their swimming abilities.

In total, the program saw 97 students participate, with 86 successfully obtaining certificates verifying their swimming skills. This initiative marks a significant step towards improving water safety awareness and skills among the island's youth.

The police also acknowledged the support received from various parties by presenting commemorative plaques and letters of appreciation to those who assisted in conducting the program.

This community-oriented initiative by the Madifushi Police Station demonstrates the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and educational institutions in promoting essential life skills and safety awareness among students.
