Police Observe Nationwide Moment of Silence on National Unity Day

The Maldives Police Service participated in a nationwide ceremony to commemorate National Unity Day, in remembrance of those who lost their lives or went missing during the 2004 tsunami.

 

As part of the ceremony, a moment of silence was observed across the country at 9:23 AM.

 

In Malé, the ceremony was held in front of the former Huravee Building, with senior police officials and many officers in attendance.

 

Police officers stationed in the atolls also observed the moment of silence in front of their respective island Police Stations, demonstrating solidarity in remembrance of the lives affected by the disaster.
