Graduation Ceremony Held for 39th Police Initial Training Course

The graduation ceremony for the 39th Police Initial Training Course was held on Friday night at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement in Addu City.

 

The event was graced by the presence of the Prosecutor General Justice (Retired) Ustaz Abbas Shareef presiding as the chief guest, joined by Deputy Commissioners Ismail Naveen and Farhad Fikry, along with Assistant Commissioner Ahmed Abdurrahman, the college’s executive director. Alongside them were senior officials, dignitaries, and proud family members of the graduates. 

 



A total of 210 officers participated in the six-month training course, which began on January 19 of this year. Among them, 196 officers successfully completed the program, including 48 female officers and 162 male officers. This batch also included a participant who holds a PhD, the first time a doctoral graduate has completed the initial training course in the Maldives.

 

 

Constable Hussain Thaim was named the Best Overall Student of the 39th Police Initial Training Course. He also received the Commissioner of Police Excellence Award and was recognised as the top student in indoor subjects. Additionally, Constable Thaim was selected as the top student of the Ranvikka Squad, which was awarded the Best Squad. Sub-Inspector of Police Hanif Hussain, who supervised the squad, received the shield on their behalf.

 

 

Constable Raniya Ibrahim was recognised as the top student in outdoor subjects. Senior Sergeant Ali Farhan was named the top student from the Ainella Squad. Constable Aishath Masha Mohamed was recognised from the Haajee Squad, Constable Aminath Hamna Ahmed from the Beefan Squad, and Constable Aminath Shaha Shamin from the Ambari Squad.
 

The Police Initial Training Course provide new officers with the knowledge and skills needed to carry out their duties under the Constitution and legal framework of the Maldives. It includes training in law enforcement practices, Islamic values, human rights, and the Maldives Police Service’s Code of Conduct and Ethics.
