Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen will attend the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly, where he is scheduled to meet with heads of leading law enforcement agencies from around the world.

During these high-level engagements, Commissioner Naveen will urge for enhanced cooperation and timely information-sharing between originating and transit countries to combat illicit drug trafficking and the illegal tobacco trade, both of which continue to pose serious threats to the Maldives and the wider region.

He will also call for closer collaboration in identifying and disrupting criminal networks operating abroad that are financing and directing criminal activities inside the Maldives. Commissioner Naveen will highlight the need for joint operations, intelligence exchange, and targeted action against foreign-based actors who exploit international borders to facilitate organized crime.

The Maldives Police Service remains committed to strengthening global partnerships to ensure the safety and security of the Maldivian people.
