Commissioner of Police Meets International Counterparts at INTERPOL 93rd General Assembly

Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen met with Police Chiefs and Delegation heads from several countries during INTERPOL 93rd General Assembly, which is taking place in Marrakesh, Morocco.
As part of todays engagements, Commissioner Naveen held separate meetings with delegations from Sri Lanka, France, the UAE, China, and Japan. The discussions centered on the changing nature of crime in the Maldives and the wider region, as well as the international challenges that law enforcement agencies continue to face.

Both sides shared insights on how crimes such as cybercrime, drug trafficking, and terrorism-related offenses are evolving. They also exchanged ideas on practical ways to strengthen cooperation and overcome these challenges.

The meetings further highlighted the importance of investing in people. Conversations focused on training officers in investigative work, developing trainers in technical fields, and building the capacity of frontline police.
